Could Lindsey have found my number?

I believe I’ve said before that Lindsey Stirling has a lot of potential, but for now her music just doesn’t do it for me…yet? Well, she’s getting closer. Granted, this new video of hers is a collaboration in a lot of ways, but it’s quite possibly the best work I’ve seen produced under her brand. It would be interesting to know how much of this was her creative vision. Hard to say from just watching, but it fits her brand very well. (Yes, one of the curses of having an MBA is that you see the world in terms of branding.)

Anyway, it’s cute, it’s catchy, and I like it. Your mileage may vary, but here it is:

Oh, and always eat your vegetables–though I’ve yet to have one affect me like that.

  1. Her second album does branch out more. Some of it really hits, others not so much. Her willingness to collaborate and explore with her videos has really become one of her strengths, I suspect it’s because she’s figured out that there’s only so much variation she can put into her dance moves and still play the violin. Personally, I think the Japanese influences in this video and Senbonzakura really work for her.

Embracing her geek works for her, certainly. And her costumer deserves an award. I rather like her western/steampunk outfit in Roundtable Rival, as well as her pirate outfit for Master of Tides, among others. But she certainly seems to have found her audience, considering the views she gets. For someone not backed by a major label, she’s crushing it.

  2. Lindsey is definitely talented. I have to admit this one is over my head, probably because I don’t particularly have an appreciation for anime. My favorite is the one she did with The Piano Guys. I do like the Japanese influence in the music.

  3. You mean the Mission Impossible crossover? Yeah, that one was fun.

  4. Me too. I keep watching it. I’ll have to look for the one you mentioned.

  5. So now that she has your number, has she called?
